The Road to Urbana06 December 26, 2006

In a few hours, I will be going down to St. Louis for the Urbana Mission Conference. It’s been a lot of work trying to get the backend stuff in place, I’ve been helping out with rides and it’s been quite the pain at times (I have to purposefully remind myself that I’m serving God and serving others to keep sane). I have never experienced this level of intense email/phone correspondance, dealing with HM people, last minute sign up people, and a variety of messy communication problems.

As I spend time down there, I hope to live-blog my experiences/learnings. In the meantime, here are a few prayer requests that I have.

  1.  All 11 buses under the AFC/IVCF banner will get to St. Louis safely, and back to Toronto safely (I am seriously concerned that some people will get lost down there).
  2. All attendees may see God’s heart for a missional way of living, and in turn, respond to God’s promptings in very real ways.
  3. I am personally trying to discern a more specific path in my life. I think God has placed a passion/desire in me to move towards urban ministry – but that’s such a broad idea, so need much wisdom/guidance for better direction. I am praying that the emphasis on urban mission this year will help me with my vocation.

See you in the New Year.
